The Mahi bite is on with a few tuna . Thanks to Rich for 15 years of fishing on the Outrigger and to 15 more. It was non stop Mahi action on Tuesday with some yellow fin tuna mixed in. Young Jake did well with the dolphin and tuna and I know he will be back for more. We also had one 37lbs Dolphin caught by Bret. I hope I spelled your name right. Thanks again to the many years of good times. CAPT. AARON

2012 Spencer yatch paint job ready for the season

April 22nd, 2012

Ready to SplashBack in January I started work on the Outrigger. I began on the inside teak trim, striping it and refinishing it with al -brite clear gloss. The goal of this project was to get every thing ready to paint the outside for the 2012 season. It has been a lot of long days with countless hours of sanding and preping the boat for painting but finally we have finished. I used Dupont Imron 508U paint . This is the new age stuff, eco friendly, I hope it last as long as the old kind of Imron 508U. We’ll find out in a couple of years. It looks real good right now.

The spring tuna run is on with limits of tuna and some mahi and wahoo. As you know every day is different but it is pretty good for fishing right now. We had five wahoo the other day with the largest at 73 lbs , nice one.

Thank you from the Wright family see you soon

Yellow fin bite

The last two days the yellow fin tuna fishing was excellent. With limits of yellow fin at Oregon inlet and the Hatteras boats have been coming up to get in on the great action. The blue fin tunas have also been very good on the northern end. With some smaller fish in the slot limit under 73″ and still the giants from 80″ to 95″ . This makes for a great time on the water and this week looks like some nice weather with temps in high 60′s and 70′s .

Thank you Capt. Aaron

Outer Banks Offshore this week.

November 22nd, 2011

The tuna have been on the move . If you can get in right spot it is great fishing. Last Saturday it took the fleet a little while to find the fish but when you get on them it has been Game On. We caught a Dozen one day and a limit then six on Sunday. So the fish are out there and It has been good when you find them but they never stay where you leave them. Thanks Capt. Aaron Wright
